My wife and I listened to this show and we agree 100% about the more cost/less good stuff. I hate it when they raise the price and then take away items. That just tells me they don't care about me as a customer and I should either not go or take my business elswhere. I wonder when they will learn......

15 minute episode? You slackers! Matt must have let all the "its a small world" get to his head.

Haha! just kidding guys. great episode. I agree with you guys on the "pay more/get less" deal that Disney has been running. Kinda cheap if ya ask me. But as Sue/Mary said "its a business!"

They are trying to see how much we'll pay for how little they'll give us. It's so true.

And the parties do make them money. If they lost them money, why would they start the P&PP in Jan? Also, the parties are spreading. They just had the first NSSHP at DisneyLAND (called 'Mickey's Halloween Time'). They have also heard plans of an 'E-Ticket' night starting up sometime next summer.

Another point...what about hotel prices going up and AP nights going down. And what about DDP offerings drying up?

We do have to remember that it is a business. They charge because they are large (bad Monsters Inc. rip off). The trouble is, they are the only drug dealer for all of us 'users' (again, bad analogy).

Nothing is more wonderful than the imagination. For, in a moment, you can experience a beautiful fantasy. Or, an exciting adventure!
Scrupples

So you hear some people may be getting some stuff free without a ticket. You guys say lets try it. Hmmm..... This is kind of like a scrupples question.

If you hear there is a spot you can hide in the Magic Kingdom that cast members never check and would allow you to enjoy the next day free..Would you try that too?

Supply and Demand

I think that demographically so many people visit WDW only once, and they don't see the yearly price increases and the lessening value so that ticket sales to the parties are still strong.

The small contingent of frequent visitors like us probably have scaled back or are 'cheating' by hanging in the parks without armbands. I think the only way the price bubble will correct is if sales decline. I would imagine even the 'cheaters' are spending $$$ in the gift shops, which is probably why Disney hasn't tried to police that.

The thing that bothers me about Disney's policies in general is that there is no loyalty marketing. Me and my Disneyphile friends visit yearly despite 9/11, gas prices, hurricanes, etc. while the general public's attendance is volatile.

I was at a very expensive spa recently and during dinner one night, the manager came over to a couple near us and gave the husband and wife beautiful gifts as it had been their 20th visit to the spa. I'm sure lots of you receive either fresh pears or oranges from your dry cleaner during the holidays. Disney just doesn't get that part of creating loyalty.
