Merry Chrismas poem
Authored by: wdwtodayfanclub on Friday, December 22 2006 @ 11:28 AM CST
'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
not a creature was stirring, not even a (Mickey)mouse.
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
in hopes that WDWToday podcast soon would be there.

The Testas were nestled all snug in their beds,
while visions of short wait times danced in their heads.
And Scopa in his Towers, and I in my cap,
had just settled our brains for a long winter's nap.

When out on the computer there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from my bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the monitor I flew like a flash,
tore open the hard drive, and threw up the sash

With a host named Matt, so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment he must be like St. Nick.
More rapid than eagles, his coursers they came,
and he whistled and shouted and called them by name:

"Now Newell! Now Testa!
Now, Scopa and Waring!
On, Wils! On, Barrett!
On, Seifert and thanks for caring!
To the top of the porch!
To the top of the wall!
Now dash away! Dash away!
Dash away all!"

Matt sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle,
And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.
But I heard him exclaim, 'ere he drove out of sight,

"Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good night!"

Episode 195 Delayed

Sorry Folks. I can't let Scopa take the blame this time.

Mary had her surgery on Thursday which went long, and we're still not home. As soon as I get home, I will have this episode ready.

To Mike Scopa:

DIZ RECIPE: Cheddar Cheese Soup at Le Cellier in Epcot
Ingredients:
1/4 lb. smoked bacon finely chopped
1 medium red onion cut into 1/4 in. pieces
1/2 cup finely sliced celery
1/2 cup finely chopped carrots
3 TB all-purpose flour
3 cups whole milk
2 cups chicken stock
12 oz. grated white cheddar, Canadian Black Diamond
3 dashes Tabasco
1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/2 cup Moosehead Canadian Ale, room temperature
salt and pepper to taste
1 TB thinly sliced chives
Method:
1. Cook the bacon in a large heavy-bottomed, non-reactive soup pot
over medium heat until wilted but not browned.
2. Add onions, celery and carrots and cook until the onion is
translucent and bacon has crisped.
3. Sprinkle in flour and stir constantly for 2 minutes. Stir in milk
and stock, a little at a time, blending well to ensure there are no
lumps. Bring to a boil, then cover and simmer for 15 minutes.
4. Remove from heat and whisk in cheese, Tabasco, Worcestershire and
ale. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Serve with your favorite bread and top with chopped chives. Makes 6
servings.

dr. pepper

In Florida, Dr. pepper is not distributed by Coke, but Pepsi or another distributor.

Instead of Dr. Pepper, you may be able to find Mr. Pibb (which is similiar)

Surprise in the Skies
Authored by: St. Chris on Tuesday, December 26 2006 @ 11:26 AM CST

Students of Epcot music (you know who you are, Newell) will also note that the Surprise in the Skies lagoon show's score featured the song "Air Battle," which is now one of the best Innoventions fountain show tunes.

I never got to see the air show, but Disney's press release (archived at AllEarsNet; bigger photo here) says the characters flew "paraplanes," which appear to be powered parachutes. Looks like they had some other ultralight aircraft in the show as well.
