First off we own at DAKV/Jambo house DVC. That said I've not stayed at Kidani village, couldn't make it down yet. But we have stayed at Jambo house multiple times
But to respond to a few things Matt said:
  • no counter service, this has been known for some time. Speculation is DVCers come more often and plan for snackage. So there isn't really any money in the CS.
  • using DVC points at DAKV for a standard view room. There are 4 levels of room concierge (C), Savannah (SV), Standard (S), and Value (V) at DAVK
    • DAKV Studio in May for a week is 99 S points, Savannah view (SV) is a 117
    • Same thing at SSR is 112
13 points cheaper per week at DAKV for a S, and 5 points more for SV over SSR
some talk that the S and V rooms will be hard to get, since they are less than 20% of the total rooms.
  • WiFi, my speculation on this is Disney isn't a "working" hotel, it's a resort. DVC members get free wired internet, which is good enough to check e-mail etc..but they don't want a lot of people sitting at the pool web surfing/working.
  • have you stayed at the DAKV Jambo house DVC rooms or just the standard rooms? The rooms in the DVC part of Jambo are a bit smaller Kidani.
  • bussing between the two resorts. the system they are using (and i might have it backwards):
    • Park buses stop at Kidani first then Jambo
    • Downtown Disney busses stop at Jambo and then Kidani
so if you want to go one way you take any park bus, to go the other you take the DTD bus
