Really enjoyed today's show... loved hearing additional real-world experiences from listeners. Might be a nice thing to add into the show rotation every so often.

In an effort to not wipe out the family commando touring, I decided to follow the UG day after extra magic hours park recommendation and it worked like a charm. That Len just may be a genius after all ;-) . No need to get up extra early for EEMH. Get an extra hour of sleep and be there for regular rope drop. As for EEMH, I can never seem to stay there long enough to see a benefit.

On our most recent trip, we had a party of 10 adults, all of whom were on different budgets for the trip (varying from "starving college student" to "who wants to be a millionaire" levels). The reason the dining plan worked for us is that everyone could pay for their whole cost of the vacation in advance and know that they could order anything off the menu without trying to calculate who owes what or having people feel guilty that they bought expensive food while the people on budgets were going with an appetizer as a "meal" and water for a drink. Although the portion sizes are large and we didn't end up using all our snack credits, it still made for a stress-free trip around mealtimes. No trying to split the check ten ways, no stressing about who ordered what, just hand over the room keys (two rooms, 5 people on each) have the tip charged to credit card attached to the room, and done.
On our next trip, we're going down for the WDWT Reunion, so no dining plan for us....unless you count the Everything Tastes Better When Len's Paying Dining Plan. ;)

No one on this show seemed to like the dining plan. I gotta say about the dining plan, it is a great peace of mind for me. It is another way for my family and I to go to Disney and not worry about anything! We check in and relax!
Having said that - I am a pre-planner. I have the tip and our menu selections printed on an envelope and hand them to the server when we sit down. It minimizes our "sit down" time, and it seems to me when the servers find out you're on the dining plan they tend to ignore you or not take as good of care of you. I guess they assume they aren't going to get a tip, since it seems a lot of people don't realize the tip is not included....
