Blockparty Bash

For the record I agree with Len...I really dislike Blockparty Bash, as do my kids. I don't want a entertainment experience...I want a parade. Also...the Celebration thing at MK is nearly as annoying.
Toddler Dining

I feel that I need to mention that for many children...if you prep your toddlers for sitdown restaurant dining, there is absolutely no reason to avoid casual sitdown dining while at WDW. Now, I'm not talking California Grill and the like...I'm talking places like Liberty Inn or 50's Prime Time. We have always taken our kids to eat there when they were small...but we also took them out for dinner at home, so they know how to behave and can sit. I don't think that you have to avoid places to eat just because the kids won't be entertained.

Here it comes down to knowing your child too...especially with the "Honey I Shrunk the Kids" area. My daughter would not go in there because the giant ant scared her.

I have to agree with a lot of what was said... we make it VERY clear to our almost 4-year-old what behavior is tolerated in restaurants, and that starts WAY before we go to Walt Disney World. She's been 3 times so far, and she'll be almost 5 when we go in October 2010. I have yet to remove her for poor behavior from any sit-down restaurant, including Yachtsman Steakhouse (twice!), which is decidedly NOT themed for entertaining children. (However, great kids' menus and the "paint your own dessert" is a BIG hit!)

You have to know your child.

More importantly, in my opinion, don't expect to start to train them in a place as overwhelmingly stimulating as a Disney vacation. If you don't go out to restaurants as a rule at home, I would not recommend your first to be on vacation. What starts at home can only help as a basis for behavior when in unfamiliar and exciting surroundings.
