Episode 701 - Sci-Fi Dine-in

Newell, if you ever get the video loop from Sci-Fi Dine-In, you really need to do an MST3K treatment of it. Or you could have a meet there at the Reunion and do your own version of Rifftrax Live.

Married at Disney
Authored by: jcodirewolf on Wednesday, March 31 2010 @ 09:59 AM CDT
So we got married at Disney. And by married I mean we had a ceremony there, if you ask the Catholic Church we got married in downtown Orlando (without too many details, Rome says you must use a Church or better for a wedding, a shrine isn't good enough.) We refer to that as the Catholic Technicality Ceremony.

We did the Rehearsal Dinner (which was after the CTC) at Fulton's. We did the ceremony in the morning, 11am, at the wedding pavilion, which included Cindy's coach. Then had the reception at the California grill.

We did this all 5 years ago (28 May.) Prices have really skyrocketed, since then, at the time we spent about $4-5k more than "average" for 2005. Expect to go down atleast 3 times durning the planning process, they will tell you you can do it all over the phone and online, but I think being there face to face is better. One of our real issues is we wanted some ideas. My wife had not been planning this wedding since she was 6, and every time we asked "can we see some examples/what others have done" they kept saying "we can do what ever you want." I know that I just want to leverage what someone else has done.

River Country & Weddings
Authored by: kmkonop on Thursday, April 08 2010 @ 08:02 PM CDT
1st when we were in Disney as kids, my dad used to tell us,"River Country is where the rich kids play." I hope it reopens one day, so I can play with the rich kids.

2nd we did an intimate wedding (now called Escape Wedding) in Disney Dec 2006. Shockingly enough, at that time, it was the best deal in FL for a destination wedding. We had "18guests"my wedding planner, Tanis, let me fudge the numbers a little (we actually had 24.) I chose the Wedding Pavilion due to our numbers, but if you have less than 10 people total you can do Sunset Pt (my preference.) We did a rehearsal dinner at Morocco, the belly dancer was a hit. We had the champagne toast at GF & then we did our Reception Dinner at Ohanna...it was so much fun. The kids got up to play, the adults drank & ate, they had my husband & I dance to an Elvis tune & Wishes went off at 7pm. Mary Wearing from mousesavers.com has a wedding site for Disney weddings: http://www.mouseweddings.com You can find pics, prices, money saving tips & planning info.

Good luck & congrats!
