Matt, I do agree with your "Mafia" comment. And I truly believe that you do not have to tip in order to get "good," basic service. I just like to up the ante a bit when I'm on Disney Property, if only to wow the wife. (That, plus I feel like I'm making up for others who might stiff the staff.)

I loved the segment on great cast member stories at the restaurants. I have one of my own (Richard at Le Cellier, Dec. 2006) and I bet most regular visitors do, too. I've heard Disney gives a lot of freedom to the cast members to make the guests' experiences more "magical." Working in a customer service job, myself, I wish more companies had similar policies.

For the record, I don't dislike Trail's End--I'm just not sure I get the fanatical devotion its followers hold for it. I'm fearful that they're putting crack in the chicken or something.

Also, I'm not sure you can ever have too much of a West Coast bias.
