Thank you for the timely reminder! I managed to call WDW this morning and reserve a 3D dessert event (10/28) and a Tequila Tasting (10/29).

We usually do a signature event (or two.) This year we will be at KSC for the weekend so our choices were limited. Thursday night and Friday midday worked well, though, with our schedule. In the past we have attending wine pairing meals in Morocco, and an Mexican event at the Odyssey Restaurant. Last year we did the Sardinia food and wine demonstration (fabulous!) and signed up for several of the lower cost events, too. We'd never bothered with the pre-2009 free festival center wine tastings, because the "cost" of standing in line for an hour or two wasn't worth it to us. Now that I can pay a few dollars and get a reservation, it is much more palatable. There are also Tables in Wonderland/Annual Pass discounts for those inexpensive festival center tastings.

Food and Wine Festival is my favorite event at my favorite time of year. The fact that it coincides with my birthday doesn't hurt!

Annette, you really should go! You'd love it!

I would have to echo the praises of getting a "wrist band debit card" & getting there right when World Showcase opens - both simple ideas make for a MUCH more pleasant experience. Last year I went into the pavilion, loaded up my "debit card", grabbed a map and a coffee then sat down for a half hour or so to make a "game plan" and put a mark next to the things I didn't want to miss.
