Thrill RIdes

I agree and disagree with Scopa on his thrill ride argument. I agree that Mission: Space is a bad attraction and should not have been built as, frankly, it's dangerous BUT diagree that Disney should build no thrill attractions (i.e., those that can only be ridden by a certain age group as opposed to the whole family). I for one would not go to DIsney very often if all the rides were boat rides or tame roller coasters (I will admit that I'm in the minority on this). As long as they theme their thrill rides (Everest is a great example-it is not a tame coaster but the theming is excellent) they should be able to build what they want. I'll end my rant with this: corportations often, rightfully or not, break away from their founders missions. For example, Wellington Mara, the origional owner of the NY football Giants would never have charged the fans for the PSLs his son is.

Mine would be the Mad Hatter Tea Cups! I'll never be able to ride that one...

I also think Mission Space is a 'meh' attraction but I think it's fair to point to that one as one that's not good for the G-parents (or the whole family). Some could say the same about Everest, ToT, RnR, etc.

I think it's great that for as many times as you all have been to WDW, there are still new adventures for you to experience! :) Good show.

I just want to give a shout-out for Astro Orbiter. Mike Scopa, you
should give it a "whirl" after dark. I went on it, mostly for my young son,
but found it really thrilling and fun. He actually was a bit freaked because
you really are "Up There"! Anyway--the big attraction is seeing the whole
Magic Kingdom lit up at night from that vantage point. The trip up the elevator
to the platform is full of anticipation, and the short ride is really worth it.

Definitely a different experience than your standard spin-around like Dumbo
or Magic Carpets.

Give it a go!

Actually--what you all should do for a followup is actually do some of the things
on your list, then have a "Full Bucket" show, where you talk about what you think.

Maybe, just maybe, even do the green side of Mission:Space. ? :)

I had a rye smile when I saw this.... as we did the Bucket list over on the DisneyBrit podcast in August :) Have a listen to Ep 47 - we did the things we wanted to do before we died. In fact mine was sad and many people said it was quite emotional.

Cheers
