Episode 790 - Light Up The World

Not to pile on poor Matt re: Fantasmic!, but I don't even think of it as a fireworks show. It's a nighttime show with some characters that happens to include fireworks with its other effects. And I do enjoy it more at Disneyland from the river banks. That might have to do as much with the idea that it's less of a hassle to see it at DL as it is the different vantage point.

Illuminations is my favorite. I hope that Disney doesn't latch onto the idea that it's good to keep building eateries around the lagoon that are great for watching the show if you're paying to be there, but not so great if you're part of the unwashed masses outside.

Imagine that! Matt went with the show at the studios!?! I really didnt see that coming! lol, too funny, so predictable!

I'm thinking that Matt has drunk so much of the Studios koolaid that he's immune to its poisons now.

I did the fireworks trifecta on Sunday October 10; the 7:30 Fantasmic show, the 9:00 IllumiNations show and then the 10:00 Wishes show. I drove to DHS so I could drive to Epcot, then took the monorail to Magic Kingdom. The travel from IllumiNation to Wishes concerned me the most but I lucked out and got on the monorail that was just finishing boarding. If I had to wait for the next one it would have been close. Also, at about 11:30 I took the monorail back to the Epcot parking lot where I my car was one of about 40 scattered throughout. Strange feeling, spooky empty Epcot.

I'm gonna have to agree with Matt...fantasmic is my favorite too. My kids and I love the way the audience gets all pumped up before the show (they love to do the wave).

Very importantly, it's much easier to get a snack/drink before Illuminations than it is in the MK or HS! (and the variety of snack options is better in WS too...)
