I loved this episode. Len hit home talking about saving money on off-site hotels so he can spend more on food with friends. Since I had to cancel my plans to attend Reunion so I could go back to Europe (again) for more work-related punishment, we'd been contemplating heading back to the World in January to try to make up for missing Reunion 2010.

Oddly enough, on Sunday, 12/19, the day after my return from the EU, we were at a friend's home. They were telling us all about how they're going to be on the first two sailings of the Dream and how they were really looking forward to it, and how the husband had surprised the wife with a WDW pre-stay that included dinner at the Chef's Table at Victoria and Albert's. So, one thing led to another, and since there are twelve chairs at the Chef's Table and only the two of them--we're joining them. Making matters sillier, we couldn't get a 1BR at Kidani Village, so we opted for off site, not quite a 1-star, but a 1BR at Sheraton Vistana Villages at $95/night. So, we'll also join them for dinners at California Grill and Jiko, making sure we fulfill Len's plan to save money off-site and spend more money on food with friends. ;-)

And for Mr. Newell, we have never eaten at any of those three restaurants, so all three will be new! For Matt, no hamburgers for us! And Mr. Scopa, we will reserve judgment until we've eaten at each more than once. BTW--we loved Via Napoli back in October! Hoping to make it for a lunch on this January trip. Off to check TouringPlans.com to decide which day to spend at EPCOT!

Happy 2011 to each and every one!

Does Scopa's resolution mean that there's going to be a Nine Dragons meet for Reunion next year? ;)

One thing on our new year's resolution list is to continue what we've done the past couple years--we do/eat/visit/tour one thing that we've never done before: a new restaurant, a new (or new to us) attraction, touring a park in a way we've never done before (for instance, going to a park and just enjoying ambiance and not riding any rides for one day, or just doing shows for a day), or even doing a theme day (for instance, spending a "theme day" of only things related to boats across four theme parks and Disney transportation and meals). We also want to take more advantage of resort amenities (as we stay at DVC resorts, but rarely do any of the myriad activities there). Also, although we've owned a few points in BLT for a couple years now, we've always stayed at our first home resort in Kidani. We're all set now to stay a night at BLT at the end of September.

Great resolutions, guys....congrats to Matt on the new kidlet... and may you all be blessed with health, wisdom, and wealth in 2011 and beyond!

How odd that I'm listening to this podcast I'm trying to figure out a list of TS restaurants to choose from for our August trip.

Our goal is to try new places and not eat somewhere that we've been to 4 and 5 times already (like 1900 Park Fare & Chef Mickey's) just because they are family friendly.

Thanks for sharing your goals...they are coinciding w/ ours for this trip! :-)

So Matt...'bout them burgers...

After listening to this episode the other day, I thought it was hilarious that AJ (ala Disney Food Blog) just put up a post about all the new types of burgers that are going to be available this year. Did Disney do this just to taunt?
