I was a little disappointed that the Boardwalk received such bad reviews. I Like the location, restaurants, entertainment and pool very much. My only negative is the long walk from the rooms to the main lobby.

And now that Capt. Mike Scibetta is a concierge at the Boardwalk, I expect next ratings at the top of the list of all Disney Resorts to stay at.

In our recent stay at the Boardwalk we had an "okay" stay there. We really love the location (as does everyone else) but everything else (in our opinion) was so-so. When we arrived for check-in at the prescribed time we were told that our room was being cleaned and to come back and when we returned the room was still being cleaned but they told us we could go ahead and check in. Upon arriving at the room we encountered big fans and cleaning equipment because there were problems with the carpeting. We went to the front desk to see if they could give us a different room or some sort of "perk" to account for this and they simply said "no". They didn't give a reason why and didn't go into details, just "sorry" and "enjoy your stay". The fans also required us to keep windows and doors open to allow for ventilation and the equipment wasn't removed until that evening but there was a musty odor that stayed in the room for the entirety of our stay.

I don't think we'll stay at the Boardwalk again unless there is a deal that is too good to pass up so we definitely understand the resort ratings.

I was disappointed to hear that Shades of Green had dropped. Any more details on what aspects caused their hit? We're staying there late July. It's been about 10 years since we stayed at SOG last, but you usually can't beat the price, location and size of rooms.
Bus to/from Downtown Disney Hotel

Completely agree with you leading your PodCast around the "F" rating of the bus transportation to/from the Disney Downtown hotels
.
Despite the great MouseSaver deal, the expansive room, and the Hilton Family points benefits, my biggest memory of my stay at the DoubleTree a few September's ago was the AWFUL bus service from Epcot. Since then, we have stayed on-property and at Marriott's off-property with a rental car.
.
I was so disappointed at my 100 minute trip from Epcot to the Doubletree (I should have walked!) that I wrote a letter to the hotel and tried to explain the debacle as best I could. The problem is/was that there was no accountability.
.
The operators of the hotel contract with Disney for a unified bus service to the Downtown Disney resorts (two routes "A" and "B," it turns out). DDisney contracts with Mears (the natural monopoly of outside-Disney Parks surface transportation) and Mears provides a minimum level of service for as little cost as possible. The bus drivers show up sober, try to stick to their routes, and try not to kill anyone.
.
If you expect the minimum level of bus transportation (one dawdling, non-direct route, trip per hour) between your DD hotel and the parks, it is possible you won't be disappointed. But I was.

I was a little dismayed to hear that Port Orleans French Quarter has dropped. I've never heard bad feedback on the resort and I'm staying there for the first time during reunion. I'll keep my fingers crossed!
