AUTO TRAIN and checking in.

Someone asked about Auto Train and checking in. Here is what I have done a few times in the past. First the whole family takes showers and have breakfast on the train so we have a head start on the day. If you don't have a sleeper, you can just have breakfast, but then you need a shower.

I have a home in FL so we stop at the house and drop our stuff and turn on the AC, then we head to the world and get our tickets (you can view all this lost time as the time you would spend checking in). Once we have tickets in hand we head to a water park for the rest of the day then finish the day at Downtown Disney.

This works out great because it does not feel like a wasted day and allows us to ramp up our activity level in a place where there are plenty of ways to relax and not do a lot of physical activity, or do a lot of physical activity.

Please remember that Disney will allow you to check in, drop off your bags and give you your tickets even if they can't give you a room at that time. The only problem I see with this is that if you went coach on the train you will not be able to take a shower before starting your day, but that shouldn't be a problem if you go to a water park because you can shower at the park.

UP ALL NIGHT AT THE WORLD

Someone asked about staying up all night at the world as well, I don't want to give away my best tricks, but I will say this. I was in the Navy in the early 90's when there was a base in Orlando, later I was stationed in Kings Bay Ga so I got to spend a lot of time at the world and I was young, fit, had plenty of energy and not all that much brains. I used to be able to spend literally days at a time on Disney property without having a hotel room. Before anyone says shame on you for steeling from Disney, I want to say that I had park tickets and cash in my pockets.

I would advise anyone that is thinking about doing this to really think about what they are getting themselves into. When I did this I was young, I have military training and I had a fall back position in a base in Orlando, a house less than an hour away, and the cash for a hotel. I also rested properly before arriving, and had the ability to stay awake for a couple of days in a row. Again, it was the early 90's and things were different at the world.

Today if I was going to do a few days out and about at Disney World I would get a hotel room even if I wasn't going to use it I would want to have it just in case.

One piece of advice, if you are going to try to do something like this, plan to do it solo. The logistics of staying up all night out and about at Disney for one person are bad enough, forget about doing it with two or more.

My advice on this, DON"T DO IT! the risk is too high and you will not be able to enjoy the parks because you will be to tired.
