I laughed when AJ mentioned the Mickey butter. How can you guys not remember that?? :) I actually might have some photos of the butter statue that I'll try to dig up. It was always the sick joke about what body part to cut off first. Great podcast guys!

Extinct food: The Millenial Bar at Epcot. We knew it was only for a limited time but this chocolate-covered hunk of chewy, ice-creamy, nutty goodness was EPIC!

No mention of the Monte Cristo Sandwich?? Use to be one of our must eats on every visit to the MK. I do hear it's still available at Disneyland though. Where all the good foods retire. ha ha

Great episode--I'd love to hear another round of this with the whole podcast crew!

Matt, you're so right about Spoodles. We went there back in 06--back when the dining plan had actual value (app + tip)--and they had a very eclectic Mediterranean menu. It was one of the best meals we've had in WDW. But shortly after that they homogenized the menu and we never went back.

We loved Tusker House back when it was counter service. They did an awesome Fried Chicken Sandwich and real carrot cake--actual sliced pieces, not the pre-packaged stuff they serve in those plastic cartons now.

They used to have the Mickey butter at Liberty Tree Tavern, where you used to get a really good bread and an apple-cinnamon spread to put on it as well. We used to get a couple loaves of the bread. They also had a really good pasta dish that I'd often order. I know the Handwiches were in several locations throughout the parks, but we used to always get them in The Land at EPCOT. They often came with waffle fries, which were new to me at the time. I fondly remember the Strawberry Swirl. I would always get that at least once a trip at Enchanted Grove. I hope it comes back someday. I also miss the Mouseketeer Ice Cream bar, it was shaped similar to the Mickey Premium Bar, but it did not have a candy shell. Instead, the Mousketeer bar had vanilla ice cream for the face portion and chocolate ice cream for the ears portion. They briefly sold it in grocery stores one year. One restaurant I really miss is the Tangaroa Terrace over at the Poly. They had a very good breakfast buffet that we'd make a special trip over to the Poly for most mornings. We'd park at TTC and walk over.

I too was disappointed when the Strawberry Swirl was discontinued - it isn't the same with chocolate.

My big thing which has disappeared is the chicken strips (as opposed to chicken nuggets). It was nice to bring them into Fantasmic! while waiting for the show to start. (However, the ChickFilA strips are still the best in the neighbourhood.)

I loved frozen cappuccino from main street bakery......now sadly gone, and replaced with a poor imitation iced coffee something or other

Remembering things probably only Mike Scopa may remember! ;)

Of course I remember the Mickey butter and the honey butter and the walnut bread at the castle when you could actually eat regular meals there. I was thinking of other extinct eats such as Crepe Angelica and Crepe Sherwood at the castle for dessert! I think Angelica was the vanilla crepe with the strawberry filling and Sherwood was the chocolate crepe with mint filling. Wonder if the crepes in France are similar? Also, this goes way back, too, but the Troubadour Tavern in Fantasyland sponsored by Welch's. First time I ever tried white grape juice and it's still my favorite. And at the old Portobello Yacht Club, the Vino con Fruta was delicious. I have the recipe and make it still. And the Outback Restaurant-not the chain- at Buena Vista Palace had kangaroo shaped butter. Always good for commentary, too on where to start the "dissection"! LOL!

You guys remember the Goofy Bar??? I only ever saw it sold it at the Studios ice cream carts. It was like the Mickey Premium Bar BUT with chocolate ice cream instead of vanilla inside. To me, that's heaven already...but wait, THERE'S MORE!!! Ooey gooey caramel too?!?!? Get outta town!!! It was amazing!! I wonder what happened to it. I do not like vanilla ice cream, so everything at the carts doesn't appeal to me anymore. BRING BACK THE GOOFY BAR!!!!!
