according to the MK park map, there are restrooms outside the entrance. They are on the right-hand side, where the stroller/wheelchair rentals and lockers are.

There are restrooms near the Magic Kingdom entrance. They are on the right side just past the wheelchair, etc. rentals.

Hearing that they are changing the opening procedures at Epcot, DHS, and AK reminds me a lot of how they do things at Disneyland Paris. At the Disney Studios there opening is posted for 10am, but they open the gates anywhere between 9:30-9:45. As soon as the gates open everybody runs to Crush's Coaster and the queue starts the day at 120 min! That plus the fact that it is a non FP attraction makes it a huge headache for touring. Not sure how I feel about this...
Hollywood Studios is better without a rope drop

I was at Hollywood Studios last week for the first time in over a year -and the new, no-rope drop/no opening show policy really worked to my family's advantage.
Our morning was an extra magic hour morning, and we arrived at the turnstiles around 7:30. There was a long, but not overwhelmingly long line waiting at the turnstiles for opening, and my family stood in that line.
Once they began to admit guests (at about 7:50), we had to wait about 10 minutes before we were through the turnstiles....which means that for ten minutes, those ahead of us had a chance to board Toy Story Mania or get their fastpasses.
But this still was fine. We leisurely walked to Toy Story Mania while much of the crowd was waiting to get through the turnstiles, and were able to snag 10:15 a.m. fastpasses for Toy Story Mania. Then, we waited in line for approx. 25 minutes before boarding Toy Story Mania. We got to ride twice, before lunch, on a day that Touring Plans rated Hollywood Studios an 8.2, with plenty of time to see other attractions at the park.

Contrast this to last year, when the rope drop effectively put every early bird into the park at the exact same time. On that date, by the time we got in line for Fast Passes, we were rewarded with a 30 minute wait for the fastpass machine and a late afternoon return time.

So, essentially, by killing the rope drop, Hollywood Studios gets a stream of guests instead of a tsunami of them. I think it works.

Since I've never even once gotten to any of the parks at rope-drop, I'm happy to report that none of this affects me one bit. All things considered, I prefer to sleep in. :)
