Nice and timely episode.

I have a few comments. With the most recent refreshes at both Riverside and French Quarter, there are now double sink VANITIES in both resorts. Stayed earlier this year in rooms in French Quarter, Magnolia Bend, and Alligator Bayou, all in updated rooms. The vanities are a big usability improvement over the former twin pedestal sinks. There are now also flat screen TVs with I/O port management consoles in the PO resorts. Sad you didn't mention the amenities of glass "glasses" and polystyrene coffe "mugs" at the Moderates. At one point, that was a prime distinguisher between among the tiers--the drinking vessels. Someone should also mention the sparsity of elevators at Port Orleans--and their complete absence in Alligator Bayou.

I, too, have been looking at resort prices for Untent Fest. I received the same disturbing news about rates at Port Orleans as Newell did. So you know what? For the first time in recorded WDW history, I am staying at a value resort. Pop Century to be exact. CRAZY, huh? You know, after I got the quotes from Coleen, since this is a solo trip, I actually looked at the price of a campsite on AllEars, and still picked Pop. While I might prefer a 1-BR at DVC resort, I can storm lash a tent and build a cooking fire with the best. Anyone up for knot-tying or square lashing at Untent Fest? I could teach folks how to lash a coat hanger for a little project. By Untent Fest, I'll even have some insights into what survival skills are essential for downsizing to a Value from a Moderate! Thank goodness, I have a french press and a tea kettle in my Owner's Locker! Last time I went tent camping at Ft. Wilderness--pre-Owner's Locker--I brought along a little espresso machine and set it up outside my tiny LL Bean backpacking tent. Gotta know your priorities! Hmmmm. Maybe I should get an Owner's Locker and just for camping gear. ;-)
