I wouldn't call Jersey Week 2012 a non-event!

My husband and I managed to make it to WDW from NJ after Sandy hit. We had scheduled a F&W visit for November 1-5. Luckily, Newark Airport opened on November 1 and I was able to fly down as scheduled. My husband was able to follow the next day since we needed the extra time to secure the house and farm. We had fared relatively well, though--no house damage, just no power. We took full advantage of the 1 BR unit at the Boardwalk and came home with clean laundry, too.

To be honest, I wish I had taken all my work gear to Florida with me. I'd still be there. We still have no power and there's gas rationing and it is, in general, not the happiest place on earth. As a former Florida resident, it's weird to be freezing cold, with short days and lots of darkness in the aftermath of a hurricane. The real stress comes from just not knowing what your doing about your home, wondering about insurance, looking at the long road to recovery ahead. If you can manage a trip to WDW for even just a few days--it's a great escape both physically and psychologically. I'll be back for more magic on November 28th. Let's make November Jersey Month, not just Jersey Week!
