We were at WDW during the Princess Half Maraton in 2012, not to run, just coincidentally. The morning of the race, we had decided to go to the Magic Kingdom and make it there for rope drop. It was a fairly large group with people staying at OKW and at PO-Riverside. I warned everyone to take the bus. The traffic was a complete mess. It took over an hour to get to the TTC. As Mike Scopa mentioned during the podcast, the buses drop off at the TTC instead of the MK on race day mornings. Once at the TTC, there were Christmas week-type lines for the ferries and for the monorail. We managed to all meet up at the TTC and take the ferry over as a group. Once we got to the park it was OK since we had a Touring Plan. I would not recommend trying to get to a park early in the morning--during a race!
