No taco salad at Pecos Bill's? J.P. should organize "occupy Pecos Bill's!"

I linked two 10-day no expiration tickets in December. One is now finished, but the other has 5 days left. We stayed at Pop and linked the tickets to our reservation so we could get advance FP+ reservations. The Magic Bands were mailed to my house because I was the lead guest on the reservation. The CM at check in told my friend to save her Magic Band that still had 5 days of ticket left, but to also save her physical ticket just to be safe, because who knows what things will look like by my friend's next trip.

My sister's Magic Band had two different tickets linked - 1 was a 10 day no expiration ticket with 3 days left, the other was a 1 day park hopper. The Magic Band just recognized it as a 4 day park hopper.

Im pretty sure you need to link tickets on the MDE site before you can make your FP+ picks. The magic band is not valid for entry to a park or to make FP+ reservations without a ticket affiliated to it. You still could receive bands for an onsite stay but with no ticket they are just a room key/credit card.

Sorry guys, this was one episode where I was yelling at my iPad while listening to it. I linked old park hopper passes with days left on them right on the MDE website. It's not complicated. If they are older tickets (we had some from 2006 with water park admissions left only) call Disney and they'll put them in for you. And yes, as mentioned in the comments, you need valid ticket media to book FP+, not just a room reservation.

I think it only gets complicated when you have, say, a leftover park hopper pass and a non-park hopper, and want to use a certain type of ticket during a trip. I'd assume you put only the ticket you want to use on your MDE account and save the other one till you need it.

Using 3 left over days on a park hopper ticket and 3 left over days on a 1-park ticket seems problematic. How does the system know which ticket you want to use when you magic band at entry? You may want to use them...1p, ph, ph, 1p, ph, 1p... on a 6 day trip but that could change based on weather or illness. You need them linked to get the advanced FP+ but the order of use may not be decided upon yet. Maybe the MDE software has a lowest value default order and it changes the ticket type only when used at 2 different parks on one day? Seems unlikely.

Also wanted to mention that Len's idea for "double-dipping" comes at a huge cost - you'd need to have two tickets if you're making reservations using two different MDE accounts, and that would mean burning two days worth of tickets for every day you want to double-dip. Possible, but only cost-effective for those with more money than they know what to do with.
