You know, maybe I'd be a lot more interested in this event if they actually had some people I knew appearing. I mean, James Arnold Taylor? Ashley Eckstein? I wish they had some famous people at this event.

As of 2013, the stormtroopers are no longer performing over the entrance gates. There are two stormtroopers on mobile platforms on Hollywood Blvd instead. They do a shortened version of the old pre-opening skit for rope drop and later in the day on the hat stage.

Share and Enjoy!

I was there the first Friday and Saturday. The big themes are getting the Star Wars mythology back on the track created by the original 3 movies and advertising for the new animated Star Wars: Rebels TV show. The stupid character dance show is gone and the bad guys are scary and good guys are heroic. Before the finale fireworks, all the major characters are introduced in a serious manner. This is a big purge of the last 20 years of frivolity.

The talk shows are also involved in this. Behind the Force: Star Wars Rebels is 30 minutes of advertising. The Stars of the Saga talk show stormtrooper preshow recaps the 3 original movies and ignores the 3 prequels.

All in all, this is a good course correction for the Star Wars mythology leading up to the new movies.

Hey, Matt. My go to source for Star Wars Weekends has always been StudiosCentral.com. I was really excited to see what you had written up for this year's Star Wars Weekends since they have seemingly "plussed" the event this year. But StudiosCentral.com seems to have been abandonded sometime last September. Is StudiosCentral.com dead? Plans for a resurection?

His deeds will not be forgiven until he merits.
