Len says they dont take ADR's because they're not operated by Disney and don't want to integrate into Disney's system. Matt enjoys eating there and recommends the beer sampler and burgers.

1088 20:15 Josh asks for good restaurants for solo-dining. Len recommends the small bar at Jiko (you can watch the chefs cook appetizers) and Flying Fish. Mike Newell recommends the Kona Sushi Bar. Mike Scopa recommends the Tune-in Lounge at Prime Time.

0161 Deedee also wants to know if there's a cover charge for Jellyrolls. Matt says there's a $8 cover charge, no drink minimum and you have to be 21 and is open from 7pm to 2am.

0048 Steve of Cambridge, MA got a meal and merchandise voucher for Planet Hollywood and wants to know if it's worthwhile to use. Len says the meal voucher is good for a burger, fries and a dessert and the merchandise voucher is good for $5 off. Len doesn't know he'd go out of his way to redeem it but says if you find yourself in the area, go for it.

0059 Marsha of Whitefalls, PA and wants to know if she gets a 3 day base ticket, can she go to Pleasure Island on the same day she goes to a park. There is no reason she couldn't but will have to pay a certain fee to get into various clubs. Len recommends Raglan Road when the live band is there.

0021 Frank from Connecticut wants to know about the Raglan Road Irish Pub that recently opened at Pleasure Island. Len notes that the people who run this bar have a similar bar in Las Vegas which is quite fun and busy. Len also mentions the food is pretty good and seems to be a lot of fun. Mary says they brought in authentic items from Ireland and the bar itself is over 100 years old.

0080 Ryan asks why Beaver Tails have been discontinued at Epcot. Matt mentions Beaver Tails had a real cult following. One of Len's researchers got this answer, "I took the boat to the International Gateway and walked over to the Canadian pavilion to settle the beaver tail question once and for all. I had heard that beaver tail pastries had recently been discontinued at Disney World, so I inquired about their status at one of the Canadian kiosks. The two women on duty there (one from Kelowna, B.C. and one from Halifax, N.S.) verified that Disney's contract with the beaver tail distributor had expired and had not been renewed. Drat--guess that means I'll have to go back to Ottawa sometime and get one there! I've been looking for an excuse to visit that charming city again.".

Mike Scopa says regarding steak, it can vary between the different cuts but he likes the Terriyaki steak tips at Kona Cafe, the Concourse Steak House at the Contemporary and the Scopa Special at Le Cellier at Canada in Epcot. Len likes Shula's at the Dolphin Resort and Yachtsman Steak house. Len likes the Concourse Steak house as well for it's moderate prices but it isn't on the level of Shulas.

0119 Norman is looking for good restaurants that have great views and food quality. Mike Newell recomends Ohana(Polynesian) for it's view. Mike Scopa likes the Garden Grill at the Land pavillion (Epcot). Mike Scopa says some of the tables at Artist Point have some nice views but isn't terribly proud of the food there. Mike Scopa would also recommend Boma for the food and not so much of the view. Matt likes Crystal Palace for its view and the Grand Floridian Cafe has a decent view of the resort.

Len and Matt like Whispering Canyon at the Wilderness Lodge. Mike Scopa also recommends the Rainforest Cafe at Animal Kingdom. Matt doesn't like it because there are locations all around the country. Len also likes Boma, not so much for the restaurant but for the ammenities at the Animal Kingdom Lodge after the meal. Len also recommends Ohana although the food isn't that great now but you could go after dinner and see Wishes from the beach of the Polynesian Resort. Mike Scopa also likes Teppanyaki restaurant at Japan in Epcot. Mike Scopa warns against Ohanas for dinner.

Mike Scopa recommends to be careful of the buffets and would avoid anything that has cream or mayo because that tends to go bad quickly. Len recommends being extra careful at the water parks. Len says on the [8]State of Florida Health Inspection monitors problems at restaurants and he hasn't seen many problems with Walt Disney World restaurants.

Len likes O'Hana, especially the character breakfast. The Biergarten in Germany can be alot of fun. Matt found Teppanyaki to be entertaining. Matt recommends Garden Grill. Mike enjoys Beaches n Cream for when watching peopel try to eat the Kitchen Sink.

Len says Unofficial Guide readers gave Boma a 92% approval rating and O'Hana 90% approval rating. Mike Scopa says Boma has very interesting food to offer. Len says you could tour the Animal Kingdom Lodge before dinner and then use the night vision goggles after dinner to watch the Savanah. Len says the special thing to do at O'Hana is to see Wishes.

Menu prices are considerably higher than other top-tier Disney restaurants. Without wine, you're looking to spend about $95 per person or $145 with wine. And if you want to sit at the chef's table (which Len says you want to do), it will run you $125 per person without wine and $185 per person with wine (minus gratuity & tax). Meal can easily set you back $400, which is quite a lot. Len advises to try Citricos (at Grand Floridian) which is more moderately priced first, see if you like it and then opt to go for Victoria & Alberts. Matt says a lot of folks like to go on vacation and are willing to spend lots of money because they're on vacation and don't mind splurging. Len mentions that Victoria & Alberts is a AAA 5 Diamond award winner and the only one in Central Florida and is the premier dining destination in Disney World and if there's a place worth dropping $400, it's Victoria & Alberts. But be sure to go for the chef's table. There is a dress code at Victoria & Alberts, which requires jacket and tie for the men. Len mentions that in the Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World, readers give Victoria & Alberts a 92% approval rating (out of 100) and is usually either the first or second rated restaurant in the guide.
