Len says it's a good idea and his touring plans tend to go with that idea when possible. Matt does the "air conditioning tour" at the Studios where he goes from Great Movie Ride, Sounds Dangerous, Star Tours, to Muppetvision to Walt Disney: One Man's Dream. tikkipoo also wants to know if it's worth going in the summer. Len thinks so. Mike Scopa says the parks are open later in the summer. Mike Scopa also says the attractions are going to be likely open rather than refurbished. Mike Scopa says there are more activities in the summer time . Mike Scopa says it depends on the person and how you handle the heat. Matt prefers to go during the off-season rather than suffer in the heat. Matt also likes the off-season because there are smaller lines so you can things done quicker and you're comfortable .

0095 Karen of Delaware is going to Disney in mid-June and wants to know how it compares to August in terms of crowds and temperature. Matt says that according to the 2006 Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World, says the average high in June is 91 degrees and the low is 71. In August it is 92 and 73.. Matt says the temperatures between the two months is negligable and it's hot and humid. Mike Scopa has found it hottest in June but hasn't seen as much rain in June as in July or August. Mike Scopa says to avoid being outdoors between noon and 4pm. Matt recommends August because crowds are lessen and to check out the TouringPlans [1]Best Days Calendar.

0065 Mike of New Jersey wants to know the best dates for a summer 2007 trip, is the Disney Dining plan worth it and if a travel agent worth using. Len thinks Mike should go either early or late summer and thinks second half of August would be better than early June..

0062 Lori wants to know our top 5 tips for visiting Walt Disney World in the summer. Matt mentions Lori might be interested in [2]Episode 16 since we discussed planning a trip with a first timer. Mike Scopa recommends going early, and be out of the park by noon and spend the hours between noon and 4 out of the sun and then spend the evening in the park. Len reminds Lori to use sunscreen, drink plenty of water, afternoon breaks because of how crowded and hot it is, and make dinner reservations. Mike Scopa also recommends for those interested in daytime parades to make sure you have the sun to your back. Mike Scopa also recommends doing any daytime shows before noon. Mike Scopa says if you want to do Animal Kingdom, do it in the morning because it can get very hot and humid there by the afternoon.

He wants to know if he take Magical Express to his on-property hotel, stay on-property for two days, leave, go to an off-property hotel, and then at the end of his trip catch Magical Express back to the airport. Matt believes that the Magical Express is good for the resort visit. Once you are done with the resort stay, you lose the privileges that come along with it. Matt advises Mark to call Disney and ask. The WDW Today team will do some research on that question.

0128 Matt thinks September is going to be very uncrowded this year due to the barrage of discounts from Disney for this time period.

0113 Krista of KY wants to know if mosquitos are a problem in September. Mike Scopa says about 10 years ago mosquitos were a big problem but lately hasn't heard much complaints. Len jokes that hurricanes are a bigger concern than mosquitos. Mike Scopa says the rainfall has been light this year so mosquitos may not be a big problem.

0089 Justin from Louisville wants to know if going during mid-September is worth it considering there are low crowds but there's a risk of hurricanes and shorter hours. Len says Bob Sehlinger's advice is to go whenever crowds are lowest. Len says the parks will still be open 9-11 hours per day and you can always work in the Extra Magic Hours. Len says on the TouringPlans.com Crowd Calendar the parks are at a 4 or 5 and thinks it's good. Mike Scopa says he would delay it until October. Len says it's going to be more crowded in October. Matt says to go during September and take advantage of the very low crowds. Len says hurricanes are unpredictable and it's worth rolling the dice on it.

Mike says you can expect in early November to see temps of high 70's or low 80's and it's not necessary to bring mittens but does recommend bringing shorts.
